Founded by Ifrah Mohamed, it stands as a tribute to her beloved brother, Anwar, whose life was tragically cut short just before his 30th birthday. Anwar was more than a brother—he was a light to everyone around him, known for his boundless generosity, kindness, and unwavering compassion. His life inspired those he touched, and his passing left a void that only purposeful action could begin to fill.​

Motivated by the deep bond she shares with her own children, Ifrah envisioned a way to carry Anwar’s legacy forward by transforming heartbreak into hope. Anwar’s Light is that vision—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering orphaned and vulnerable children by equipping them with the education, practical skills, and emotional support they need to thrive. It’s a mission grounded in the belief that every child deserves not just survival, but the opportunity to succeed and shine.At Anwar’s Light, we don’t just see children in need—we see untapped potential waiting to be nurtured.
